On every excursion, Moza Alameri invites guests to view the marvellous city of Abu Dhabi through the lens of Pravda Studio and Moza, a licensed tour guide. The goal of her tours is to give you a glimpse into Arab culture with a modern spirit through pictures so good, you’ll want them out of your camera and onto
What inspired you to become a tour guide?
I love to meet new people and share my culture. I also love to talk, so please come on my tours with lots of questions.
What are your guests most surprised to learn about on your tours?
Unusually, they are most surprised to learn about how and why we dress the way they do. Most are embarrassed at first to ask, but once they realise that it’s okay to ask me anything, the floodgates open, and we end up learning so much about each other’s cultures.
What sight do you most like to see through your camera in Abu Dhabi?
I chose Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque for my tours, because it’s so majestic. I never get tired of finding new angles and helping my guests to take photos so good of this place that they will want to hang them on their walls. Guests often write to tell me that they have framed their photos and cherish their memories of Abu Dhabi, and I think “this is why I do what I do.”
What’s your favourite place to take a selfie in the city?
I don’t really enjoy snapping photos of myself, but I love to take photos of my guests, and I will take as many as we have time for. The Mosque at sunset from across the Wahat Al Karama reflection pool is a sublime backdrop no matter what the weather conditions — it’s always magical.
