If R&R is what you’re after then you’ll be spoilt for choice in Abu Dhabi. Most hotels in and around the city offer day passes to their pools and beach clubs, but there are many other great beaches and places to visit.
Day 1 – Head to the pristine Saadiyat Beach on Saadiyat Island, a beautiful 400m long public beach. A short stroll down the beach are two 5-star hotels with a multitude of food and beverage offerings, so you can enjoy lunch or a refreshing beverage at sunset. Abu Dhabi also boasts many popular beach clubs, including Saadiyat Beach Club and Yas Beach, which have stunning ocean blue pools complemented by comfortable cabanas - perfect to relax!
Here you can hire lounges, order lunch, or try out a fun water-based activity. Alternatively, try Yas Beach, a more lively beach with a resident DJ playing tracks in the late afternoon.
Day 2 – Start the day with a massage or a visit to a hammam in one of the city’s hotels. There really is so much choice in Abu Dhabi (see Relaxation & Wellbeing for some ideas), or try the Talise Spa at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, just off the Corniche.
Visit the stunning Emirates Palace Hotel and order a cappuccino sprinkled with 24-carat gold flakes! (see Unique Experiences).
At sunset, have a stroll along the Corniche and see the traditional dhows sail out to sea.
Day 3 – In the morning, take a leisurely Jalboot cruise to see the sights of Abu Dhabi from the sea (see Sightseeing Tours).
On Fridays, try a sumptuous brunch (see Brunch!).
Many of the hotels will also offer complementary use of their pool and/or beach clubs for the day.
